[Private to friends]
I would NEVER Just because I I have more self-control than Now he'll I am NOT her favourite, she loathes I am going to kill myself. I am going to kill myself right now, in fact, and would appreciate it if you would give my love to my sister and implore my mother not to marry anyone she meets through the Daily Prophet problems page. If you do this, I promise to put in a good word for you should there turn out to be life after death. [/Private]
That is absolutely preposterous. I have to say it's a shame that one cannot have an older mentor of the opposite se gender anymore without being accused of breaking the boundaries of propriety.
I would add that my virginity and whether I'll die with it intact is no one's business but my own.

If someone in seventh-year transfiguration would be willing to go over Monday's lesson with me I would be very grateful - I'm afraid I was a bit distracted and didn't unde catch what Professor McGonagall said about gender-shifting and I've been unable to locate it in the text.
[Private to Lizzie] Stay me with flagons, comfort me with apples, for I am sick to death of this place. Can we run away together, or are you too busy fli would quitting school months from the completion of our educations be completely shocking, appalling and otherwise out of the question? [/Lizzie]

Blocking has been going quite well, I'm pleased to say. The sets are halfway done as well, and they look marvelous. We really are lucky to have such an excellent cast and crew, and I can't thank you enough.
[Private to the Crew - technicians, set designers, etc] Professor Penrose said there was a problem with one of the backgrounds, but he didn't have time to tell me what it was. How serious is it? [/Crew]

Needless to say, I'm very excited about the next play. Professor Penrose has chosen an excellent source, and the adaptation work has already befun! Our cast and crew is as good as always, and I hope that everyone who is not already involved will show their support when it comes time to perform.
On a somewhat related note, the numerous petitions that have sprung up lately in the Great Hall have been removed, and any student found putting up another will have five points deducted from their House, especially if they use that particularly awful sticky substance on the one I shan't name. Just because we have house elves to clean up these things, that's no reason to be cruel and thoughtless.

[Private; Lizzie can read] I really prefer life when no one is around to cause trouble and gossip isn't rampaging through the corridors unchecked.
I just don't understand why that book is allowed. All right, so it isn't allowed exactly, but the professors practically look the other way where it's concerned. It isn't as if it's invisible; I'm sure with a little effort it could be found and confiscated.
It's not as if the spellwork's even that clever [/Private]
If I happen to see a certain book-like object at any point, it will be confiscated. I hope other prefects will do the same, but considering some of them...

I must say, it's good to have everyone back. I assume everyone had a good holiday and is simply too overwhelmed by coursework to say so? I'm happy to say that's not the case for me - I completed quite a lot over the break largely because Lizzie wasn't, and the only class I'm at all behind on is Defense Against the Dark Arts, and I'm fairly certain I can catch up on that.
I'd like to remind certain lower-years that fanged frisbees are, in fact, still against Hogwarts rules, yes, even if the fangs are tiny or not even very sharp, there's hardly any point to them at all, you see, they're more like buck teeth than anything else.
In addition, our esteemed Head Girl wishes me to inform you that listening to the wireless after nine o'clock is also against the rules, particularly if your roommates have threatened to disembowel you if you keep it up.

I understand that this is a stressful time of year and tensions are high and so on, but if I catch any more Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws fighting in the hallways I won't even bother giving a warning. I don't care what they said about your precious house team, I don't even care if you are a member of the house team, nothing gives you the right to turn someone's hair into tentacles Mr. Pervenski.
Aside from scuffles, though, the day hasn't been entirely bad. I'm a fair way through the reading for Ancient Runes, and only have a few finishing touches to my Muggle Studies assignment. With luck I should finish everything by tomorrow evening and have nothing to distract me over the holiday.

Thank you for that appalling display, Miss Oglethorpe and Miss Pushpram. Detention for you both, and ten points total from Hufflepuff. If I could take off more I would, believe me.
While I'm at it, five points from Slytherin. Thank you, Mr. Pepper, for beginning the whole thing.

[Lizzie] Do you know yet whether you're going home? I haven't decided but, not to influence your decision, I know Elsie and Gwenog are, and if Doris and Laura do as well there won't be anyone to complain if I play records.
Of course, we could listen to records just as well outside of school. But I thought I'd throw that out there. [/Lizzie]
Ah yes, the dance. I had hoped wondered if they'd forgotten about it.

It's over. It's actually over.
I'm glad, of course. I have a great deal more free time now, and I'm sure to be less stressed and irritable.
A lot more free time.

Tonight's dress rehearsal will go to eleven-thirty. Everyone had better be prepared unless they wish it to go longer.
Call time tomorrow is three o'clock and will not be changed no matter how much you whinge.

If I hear one more person use post-natal exhaustion to excuse their shoddy performance during rehearsals I will force them to eat every copy of the script in the castle.
IN ADDITION, Mr. MacFarlan, could you PLEASE try to not set half the stage on fire every time Mr. Hooper makes his entrance - the directions say "a mysterious fog surrounds the apparition," not "third-degree burns inflicted here".

Well, this should be an interesting experiment. How lucky that they decided to try it this year and not next, I would have so regretted not being a part of it.

The world would be a much better place if people exercized a little self-control. Just a modicum would be lovely.

I never thought I'd think of Dawson Hooper as pleasant and tractable, but compared to Octavius Pepper he is an absolute lamb. Why any of their group is allowed to own journals is beyond me; they should be required to wear muzzles and thick mittens and, for good measure, be sealed off from the rest of humanity in caves of ice.
I dearly hope I never again have to tell Professor Snape one of his students is publically accusing another of bestiality, but considering how the year has gone so far, I'm not holding my breath. Thankfully I thought to tell Professor Flitwick first - with any luck, Pepper should at least get a detention.
